Critical Analysis of an Author's Writing

Instructions for finding books of Literary Criticism in the school or public library.

1. Use the electronic card catalog Power Search or Advance Search feature.
2. Type the author's name in the top box.
3. Type "critical analysis" or "criticism" in the next box.
4. Click Search.
5. Write down the Call Numbers of the books you want to look for on the shelves.

Instructions for finding articles from the LAUSD Digital Library database.

1. Go to http://www.hamiltonhighschool.net/ourpages/library/
2. Click on LAUSD Digital Library on the left.
3. Click on Thomson Gale.
4. Scroll down to Literature Resource Center.
5. Type your author's last name in the search box.
6. Click on the author.
7. Click on the Literary Criticism tab.
8. Choose the critical analysis article that analyzes the works you read.
9. Click the print or email button at the top of the article to print it or email it to yourself.
