You will research a topic that is currently (or within the last 10 years) occurring in Europe. This can be in a variety of subject areas such as
political: internal to one country or international, involving two or more (wars, European Union,)
societal: ethnic or religious issues, class issues, education, immigration
cultural: art, music, fashion, professional sports
economic: current issues in the European Union, globalization
Your paper must have a thesis and evidence (supporting details) that supports it.
This paper will be 10 - 15 pages long, double spaced. (MLA Format)
You must use at least 5 sources, one of which must be a professional/academic journal and one of which must be a non-fiction book. You may use only one encyclopedia resource, on-line or otherwise. Remember: google, yahoo, ask, etc. are not web sites they are search engines.

Use the Hamilton Library Electronic Card Catalog to look for books on your subject. 

Use the
LAUSD Digital Library  to use Country Watch and Culture Grams, databases that have information about countries of the world.  To find journal articles or essays click on Thomson Gale, scroll down to History Resource Center: World, then click on Person or Subject to search.

Use OSLIS Secondary Citation Maker to cite your sources.  The yellow box on the right side to choose print or electronic sources.
Illustrations, graphs, and charts are not counted as part of your page count but will be considered as part of your overall grade.
Only one person may work on a given topic. Selection of topics is on the first-come, first-serve basis.
